Field Hockey Drops Road Contest at Washington & Jefferson
Sept. 9 – WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Bethany College field hockey program dropped an 8-0 decision to Washington & Jefferson College on Wednesday evening.
The Presidents' came out strong in the opening half, outshooting the Bison 14-2 in the period. Senior goaltender Courtney Snyder (Bristol, Pa./Bristol) stayed strong in the barrage, stopping nine of the shots. However, three different shots found their way into the back of the net, and Bethany trailed 3-0 at the half.
Washington & Jefferson would continue the tough play in the second half, outscoring the Bison 5-0 to account for the final goals of the contest.
In the game, Snyder posted 13 saves. It marked her season high and the first time she has totaled double-digit saves in 2015.
Offensively, the Bison were led by TJ Solomon (Beltsville, Md./Elizabeth Seton), who finished the game with a pair of shots on goal. Junior Amanda Henson (Bristol, Pa./Bristol) also tallied a shot on goal for the Green & White.
The Bison will be back in action on Friday, September 11 as they play host to Ohio Wesleyan University. The contest, which starts at 7:30 p.m., can also be viewed on a live video stream brought to you by the Bethany Broadcasting Network.
