Bison Snaps Losing Skid

MEADVILLE, Pa. - Two Bethany College men's basketball players recorded double-doubles as the Bison recorded their first Presidents' Athletic Conference win, beating Allegheny 84-81 Saturday at the David V. Wise Center.

Junior Ryan Reasbeck led the team with 21 points and a career-high 10 rebounds, while junior Cole Dailey finished with 15 points and 13 rebounds.

Bethany trailed for most of the game, but an 11-3 run late in the second half to claim the lead. The Bison held Allegheny to 1-of-10 shooting, nine of those shots coming from beyond the arc, in taking control of the game.

Allegheny, after an offensive rebound off a missed free throw, had an opportunity to force overtime with five seconds remaining. However, freshman Bryson Bishop deflected the three-point attempt and the win was finalized.

The Bison pulled to within one possession six times during the second half, and Allegheny seemingly had an answer each time.

Until the aforementioned game-changing run.

In the first portion of the first half, the teams played relatively close. But, Allegheny turned its five-point deficit into a six-point lead and led by nine going into halftime.

Sophomore Ben Guffey came off the bench to drop a season-high 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting, all from beyond the arc. He aided the Bison reserves in outscoring their counterparts 21-0. Junior Troy Hixson added 12 points.
