MBB: Kennedy Drops Career-High in Loss

The Bethany College men's basketball team made a run late, but fell to Chatham, 82-74, in Presidents' Athletic Conference action on Joe Kurey Memorial Court inside Hummel Field House.

A couple of second-half runs were the ultimate undoing for the Bison. Trailing by two following a Ben Guffey three-pointer with 12:38 remaining, Bethany's deficit was pushed to 11 as the Cougars went on an 11-2 run. The Bison were still hanging in striking distance, but Chatham got hot from the field – scoring on seven of eight possessions, including three consecutive three pointers.

However, with the deficit at 18 – Bethany tried one last gasp as the Bison scored 13 of the game's last 16 points.

The first half featured five lead changes and three times with Bethany's biggest lead being four and Chatham holding an advantage of eight.

Junior Cole Dailey led a quartet of double-figure scorers with 21 points to go along with nine rebounds, six assists, one steal and one block. Sophomore Jaydis Kennedy added a career-high 19 points with five rebounds and two steals.

Junior Troy Hixson contributed 12 points and freshman Jess Roller had 10 points and eight boards.
