
MBB: Second Half Run Sinks BC
Four players reached double figures as the Bethany College men's basketball team fell to Geneva, 72-68, Saturday in Presidents' Athletic Conference action on Joe Kurey Memorial Court inside the Hummel Field House.
Geneva took control of the game with a 20-5 run midway through the second half that turned Bethany's 11-point lead into a five-point deficit. Bethany trailed by nine with 71 seconds remaining. Junior Cole Dailey hit back-to-back three-pointers, the final coming with five seconds remaining to pull the Bison to within two.
However, the Golden Tornadoes sealed the victory with a pair of free throws. In fact, Geneva went 6-of-6 down the stretch to secure the victory. For the game, the visitors were 15-of-18 from the line.
The first half was played in an 11-point bubble with Bethany leading by as much as seven and Geneva having a four-point lead. There were four lead changes and four ties over the first 20 minutes.
Bethany slowly extended its lead in the second half, and following a three-pointer from sophomore Jaydis Kennedy, the Bison lead with a game-high 11 points.
Unfortunately, GC embarked on the aforementioned game-changing run.
Dailey finished the game with 13 points, four rebounds, three assists, and a block, while three other players – Kennedy, junior Troy Hixson, and freshman Jess Roller – all had 10 points.
Junior T.J. Jenkins, along with Kennedy and Roller, all had five rebounds.

Bethany (7-14 overall, 2-14 PAC) welcomes Chatham 7:30 p.m. Wednesday for PAC action. The Cougars recorded the 90-81 win on January 4.
