
Men's Lacrosse: Bethany falls to Wolverines in PAC opener
BETHANY, W.Va. - Bethany College men's Lacrosse hosted the first Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game of the year in a matchup against Grove City College. The Bison suffered their first loss of the season 26-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Grove City won the faceoff and scored within a minute to put the Wolverines up 1-0. The first goal of the game came from the stick of James Petrolle. He was assisted by Zachary Hougan.
- From their first to last goal in the first period, the Wolverines averaged a goal every two minutes to extend their lead to 7-0.
- The second quarter started with another quick goal. Matt Blythe struck the back of the net to earn himself a hat-trick in under 20 minutes of play.
- The Wolverines continued to pour it on in the second scoring six total goals- including a goal by Alec Jones (Hougan) with less than a second remaining on the clock. That goal gave Grove City a comfortable 13-0 lead entering half.
- After giving up another goal in the third, the Bethany Bison showed some fight. Ethyn Taylor infiltrated the Wolverine defense before dumping the ball off to Zach Tuley for a successful shot and goal. The Bison still trailed 14-1.
- The rest of the game was dominated by Grove City's offense who ended the game with 26 goals back of 13 different athletes. Four scorers landed a hat-trick or better; Tyson Bui led the team with four goals while Blythe, Patrick Law, and Ridgon Green shared the runner-up spot with three goals apiece.
- The Wolverines take home their first win of the year at the Bison's expense 26-1.

- Zach Tuley scored Bethany's only goal.
- Ethyn Taylor assisted that goal.
- Christian Nestor had 20 saves on 46 shots on goal.

The Bison's (1-1) (0-1 PAC) next game will be against University of Mount Union for the Purple Raiders' first game of the season. Bethany will play host Saturday, February 17th at 1 PM.
