Men's Lacrosse: Gators Chomp Bison Defense

BETHANY- Men's Lacrosse hosted the Allegheny Gators for their first Presidents Athletic Conference home game since February. The Gators were able to stay perfect in PAC play while the Bison still search for their first conference win.

The Basics

Final Score: Allegheny 22, Bethany 8

Allegheny- (6-5, 4-0 PAC)

Bethany- (5-8, 0-4 PAC)

How It Happened

  • Allegheny got their offense going early scoring a pair of goals.

  • Bethany called a timeout with eight minutes left. Coming out of the break they found themselves with a plan and up a man. They took advantage with Tyler Britton scoring a goal off a Justice Smith pass.

  • A last second goal by the Gators extended their lead over the Bison 4-1 with one period completed.

  • The Bethany offense stalled apart from a Maurice Plummer solo goal. Allegheny maintained consistent scoring through the second period. At half the Bison found themselves down 11-2.

  • The Gators wasted no time scoring a goal within the first minute of the second half. They built a sizable 18-4 lead by the end of the third period. Their volume of shots continued to rise all the way to 70 by the end of the game.

  • The most interesting play of the second half came when Bison goalie Christian Nestor earned a point from assisting Ethyn Taylor from pver 50 yards away.

  • The Bison were unable to string together multiple scores to bring the game within reach. They dropped their third straight game by a score of 22-8.

  • Nestor had a solid day at the net with a 54.2 save percentage on 26 saves
