Men's Lacrosse: Bison Fault in Middle Game; Fall to Presidents

Washington, Pa - Bethany traveled to Washington and Jefferson College to take on the Presidents. While Bethany played Grove City earlier in the season, this game is the first of what can be considered traditional conference play in the backend of the schedule. The Bison went down early and were unable to dig out of that hole. They suffer their second PAC loss of the season.

The Basics

Final Score: Washington and Jefferson 17, Bethany 9

Records:

W&J- (2-6, 1-1 PAC)

Bethany- (5-6, 0-2 PAC)

How It Happened

  • The Bison fell into an early 4-0 hole halfway through the first period of play.

  • Bethany found themselves a manu up after a penalty and took full advantage scoring two goals in 20 seconds to cut the President's lead in half 4-2.

  • Each team scored once more to end the first period 5-3 in W&J's favor.

  • The Bison looked to have figured out their offense starting the second period with a goal from the stick of Tyler Britton. Cameron Russo notched his third point of the game with an assist. That brought the Green and White within one goal.

  • From that goal on, the President's offense took over until five minutes left. They went on a 12-2 run with Bethany's Maurice Plummer sneaking a pair of goals during that stretch.

  • The Bison showed some last second life scoring three goals within the last 10 minutes, but the damage was already done. Bethany falls to W&J 17-9.
