Men's Lacrosse: Bison Outpaced Versus Chatham

Pittsburgh, Pa - Men's Lacrosse continued conference play as they traveled to Chatham for a Presidents Athletic Conference matchup. The Bison failed to secure their first PAC win of the season against the Cougars.

The Basics

Final Score: Chatham 24, Bethany 3

Records:

Chatham- (6-5, 1-1 PAC)

Bethany- (5-7, 0-3 PAC)

How It Happened

  • The Bison defense kept the game within reach through the first period only allowing four goals. Bethany's lone goal of the first quarter came from the stick of Cameron Russo. He was assisted by Ethyn Taylor. Afterwards the Bison fended off six shots to keep the game 4-1 entering the second period of play.

  • Russo used the momentum he had from scoring the previous goal to distract the Cougars and dish out an assist. Raymond Rodgers was the man to take action scoring Bethany's second goal of the game.

  • Chatham answered Rogers's goal with two goals of their own, and did the same thing when Maurice Plummer scored a solo goal for the Bison. Goalie Christian Nestor kept the Cougars in check considering the amount of shots he had to defend. The Bison still trailed 8-3 at half.

  • Chatham exploded on offense coming out of the gate. Their scoring combined with the Bison sticks going cold blended into a second half meltdown. The Cougars scored 16 unanswered goals in the second half. Nine of those came in the third quarter.

  • The Bison offense went scoreless in the second half. Bethany loses a tough one 24-3.
