HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Bethany's offense started off quite fast, picking up three goals in just over three minutes. Two came by the stick of leading scorer Tatum Severe. She ended the game with six goals and an assist.
  • The Bison played proficient defense in the first quarter only allowing the Lions to have one shot on goal. That shot was saved by goalie Alissa Carlson.
  • Karley Trinidad continued to pour on the points for the Bison. She scored three consecutive and four total goals in the first quarter to give a commanding 10-0 lead.
  • Mount Saint Joseph scored back to back goals to start off the second period. Both were from Abby Cole being a woman up. They began chipping away at the Bison's lead.
  • It was only a brief moment that Bethany didn't hold a double-digit lead. Jada Carter scored two of her five goals in the second which boosted the Bison to a 13-2 lead at half.
  • While the game started off physical, it only grew to be more as such coming out of the half. There were 10 total cards shown. Bethany was shown eight (half were green; half were yellow). Mount Saint Joseph were shown two with the same split.
  • Three of the five goals scored in the quarter came from a foul advantage. Lexie Reed and Abbie Carpenter scored those goals for the Bison.
  • The third quarter ended with Bethany holding a 17-3 lead.
  • Cole continued to shine for the Lions. She finished the game with all four of Mount Saint Joseph's goals.
  • However the Bison's offense was too fast and plentiful in this matchup as they finished their first game of spring break with a 20-4 victory.
  • The Bison shot well from free position landing five of six attempts.
  • Bethany controlled the ball for much of the game. The defense only allowed 12 offensive shots.
  • Out of the four goals given up, only one goal was not from a free position shot.
