Women's Lacrosse: Bison Offense Improves in Loss vs Allegheny

BETHANY- The women's lacrosse team hosted fellow Presidents Athletic Conference member in the Allegheny Gators in this year's "Blackout" game. To show a united front against sexual assault during sexual assault awareness month, the the stadium showed support by wearing all black.

 

The Basics

Final Score: Allegheny 21, Bethany 4

Allegheny- (4-6, 3-1 PAC)

Bethany- (2-9, 0-4 PAC)

 

How It Happened

  • Allegheny got off to a quick start scoring three goals within the first five minutes of play. The Bison split up those scores with a goal from the stick of Abbie Carpenter. The Bison still trailed 3-1 with 10 minutes to play in the first.

  • It was all Allegheny for the rest of the half. They were able to put up 11 more goals before halftime. 

  • The Bison weren't silent on offense. They scored more goals in the first half against Allegheny than they did in any other PAC game this season. Two goals by Jada Carter and another goal by Carpenter gave Bethany some offensive life bringing the score to 14-4 at half.

  • The Gators maintained their offensive momentum in the second half. The Bison, on the other hand, went cold getting shut out in the second half

  • Bethany keeps their spirits high despite falling short against Allegheny 21-4.

 

Bison Top Performers

  • Bethany had a few multi-goal scorers. Carpenter and Carter had two goals. 

  • Leah Crihfield had six saves.

 

Where Next

Bethany will host another PAC game on Saturday, April 13th. The Waynesburg Yellow Jackets will come to town in time for a 4PM start.
