Women's Lacrosse: Bison Fall Against Chatham

Women's Lacrosse: Bison Fall Against Chatham

Pittsburgh, Pa. - The women's lacrosse team finished a busy back half of the week playing their third Presidents Athletic Conference game in just four days. The Chatham Cougars were the opponent in this Saturday afternoon matchup. The Bison were unable to beat the Cougars suffering an 18-1 loss.

The Basics

Final Score: Chatham 18, Bethany 1

Records:

Chatham- (5-4, 2-0 PAC)

Bethany- (2-8, 0-3 PAC)

How It Happened

  • Scoring was fairly even for the Chatham Cougars as they scored at least four goals in each period. On the flipside, the Bethany Bison only found the back of the net once.

  • Abbie Carpenter scored on a free position shot in the second quarter. She has been the primary offensive piece for the Bison scoring in back to back games.

  • The Bison did take more shots in this game than they have had the rest of the week with eight total attempts. While they are taking more shots, they are allowing many more. Chatham took 38 total shots.

  • The sheer attempts were too much for the Bison to handle. Despite Leah Crihfield's second game of the week having double digit saves, the Bison lose big 18-1.

Bison Top Performers

  • Carpenter had the only goal of the game. No assist needed as it came from free position.

  • Carpenter also had seven draw controls, leading both teams in that category.

  • Crihfield finished the game with 11 saves.
