Bison Keep it Scoreless vs Earlham

Bison Keep it Scoreless vs Earlham

The women's soccer team hosted the Earlham Quakers on Hoag Field. Despite no score, Bethany had a decent amount of offensive momentum throughout the game. The Bison had plenty of opportunities in the box, but was unable to score a goal in a 0-0 tie.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Bethany split their 16 shots evenly among each half. In the first half, the Bison were not nearly as effective in their shots, only putting two of eight on goal. Bethany tripled their shot on goal attempts in the second half, sending six of eight between the goal posts.

  • All eight shots on goal were saved by the Earlham goalkeeper.

  • Many of the other shots that missed wide were better looks for the Bison offense. One on one situations were forced plenty of times in the second half. They simply went wide one way or another.

  • Defensively, the Bison allowed six total shots, with four of them being directed towards the net.

  • Goalkeeper Hope Fair played all 90 minutes for the Bison. She collected four saves in her first shutout of the season.

Bethany (2-2-1) will travel to the north side of Pittsburgh to take on the La Roche Redhawks (2-3). Kickoff has been moved up an hour from the original start time. The two teams will begin play 4 p.m Tuesday, September 17th.
