Bison Shine in Season Ender

Bison Shine in Season Ender

GREENVILLE, PA- Bethany had their finest offensive showing of the season against the Thiel Tomcats in a 6-1 victory. The Bison put up an astounding 28 shots from a variety of different legs. This marks the end of the regular season for the Bison, who have clinched a berth in the Presidents Athletic Conference Playoffs.

The Bison played a slow first half relative to the rest of their game, only scoring once in the 42nd minute. Isabella Hage struck the net in the bottom left corner of the goal to make it a 1-0 game.

A halftime pep talk by Head Coach Cody Kibler got the Bison fired up. They came onto the field swinging, scoring three goals within the first five minutes of resumed play.

Brionna Bash bookended the speech-fueled trifecta. Bash scored low right, then low left to throw some variety into the stat sheet. Jada Benjamin split up the goals with a score of her own.

Benjamin was spectacular in conference play this year. All offense generated was against PAC opponents. Benjamin added an assist to her aforementioned goal in today's game, which puts her at a total of 17 points for the regular season (six goals and five assists).

The Bison tacked on two more goals coming from first time scorers. Grace Schweickert (68th minute) and Carlene Thomas (78th minute) both scored their first goal of the season.

It's worth mentioning the stellar defense played by the Bison. They only allowed three shots the entire game, with the only shot in the second half being the goal that the Tomcats scored. .

Bethany will move past regular season play to the PAC playoffs. They will be the fifth seed. Full brackets and pairings will be announced later this week.
