Men's Basketball: Hot-Shooting Eagles Outscore Bison, 102-80

Bethany, W.Va. – The Bethany College Men's basketball team hosted Bridgewater College in a non-conference matchup inside Hummel Field House Friday afternoon. The Eagles sank 16 three-pointers in a 102-80 victory over the Bison.

GAME FLOW

  • The Bison pulled ahead early, taking a 14 point lead over the Eagles.
  • Bridgewater pulled off a 22-8 run to knot the game at 35-35.
  • The Eagles took the lead with six minutes to go in the first half and held on for a 14-point lead heading into halftime.
  • The Bison shot 56.7 percent from the field while the Eagles shot 51.2 percent. The Eagles hit 10 three's while the Green and White hit six from behind the arc.
  • Sophomore Travis Zimmerman made the first bucket in the second half for the Bison.
  • Bethany cut the Bridgewater lead to 10 after Trent Uphold hit three with sixteen minutes to go in the second half.
  • Unfortunately for the Bison, the Eagles strung together a 19-9 run to build the lead up to 20 points and take full control of the game.

Bethany College Men's basketball will return to Hummel Field House on Thursday, December 30, when they host Carnegie Mellon in a non-conference contest at 3 pm.
