Men's Basketball: Strong First Half Lifts Barons over Bison

Steubenville, Ohio – The Franciscan Barons used a strong shooting performance from behind the arc to stampeded past the Bethany College Bison, 108-89 in the first round of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Men's Basketball Championship Tournament Monday night.

GAME FLOW

  • The Franciscan Barons came out in the first half shooting a hot 21-for-40 from the field and 9-for-19 from behind the arc to take a 56-39 lead at the half.
  • The Barons led by as many as 17 points in the first half.
  • Junior guard led the Bison with 11 points at the half.
  • In the second half, the Bison scored first from a Travis Zimmerman layup, but the Barons answered back.
  • For majority of the second half, the Bison and Barons answered their opponents' buckets. The Barons outscored the Bison by two, 52-50 in the second half.

IN THE BOX SCORE

  • Junior guard Asa Klimchock led the way for the Bison with 27 points, shooting 4-for-8 from behind the arc. He pulled in a team high 8 rebounds and dished five assists.
  • Sophomore Travis Zimmerman added 16 points.
  • Guard Nathan Harris had nine points.
  • DJ White Jr. led the team with six assist while pulling in seven rebounds.

Bethany College Men's basketball concludes the season finishing 2-19 (2-13 PAC).
