Bison Women’s Tennis Falls to Saint Vincent

Oct. 15 – BETHANY, W. Va. – The Bethany College women' s tennis team was defeated, 9-0, by Saint Vincent in Presidents' Athletic Conference play on Thursday afternoon.

The duos of Anna Heizler (Stegen, Germany) and Pia Hager (Stuttgart, Germany), Sarah Thrall (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills) and Alyssa Smydo (Bentleyville, W. Va./Bentworth), along with Antoinette Fuller (Cleveland, Ohio/Shaw) and Haleigh Brooks (Martinsburg, W. Va./Martinsburg) competed in doubles play against the Bearcats.

Hager fell in singles play (6-4, 6-0) to Saint Vincent's Susie Ellis, who currently ranks third in the PAC in number one singles with a 9-2 record. Hager, who holds the number one ranking, lost for just the second time this season after earning her tenth victory in the Bison's last match. The freshman has posted the most wins by any Bison player since the 2012 campaign, when Maria Vallone also collected 10 wins.

Bethany College will return to the courts on Saturday, October 17 as they take on Westminster at 11:00 a.m.
