Women’s Tennis closes out home schedule with 7-2 loss to La Roche

Oct. 6 - BETHANY, W. Va. - The Bethany women's Tennis team dropped a non-conference bout with La Roche, 7-2 at the Mary Ewing Tennis Center to close out the home portion of their 2016 schedule.

In doubles action, Alyssa Smydo (Bentleyville, Pa. / Bentworth) and Gabrielle Berrios (Hamilton, N.J./Hamilton) picked up two game wins before dropping the match 8-2. The Bison would win third doubles by forfeit.

Smydo would go on to win two games in first singles while Emily Folk (Hagerstown, Md. / North Hagerstown) would also win two games in fourth singles. Berrios and Francesca Capaldi (Steubenville, Ohio / Catholic Central) also picked a game victory apiece in their second sets. Bethany won sixth singles in a forfeit by the Redhawks.

With the loss, Bethany falls to 0-11 on the season. They have a rematch with the Redhawks on Wednesday, October 12 when they travel to La Roche.
