Bison Women's Tennis Falls to Grove City

Sept. 16 – BETHANY, W. Va. – The Bethany College women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to visiting Grove City College on Wednesday afternoon.

The Green & White were swept for just the first time this season, as Grove City started the day by taking all points in doubles action. Freshmen Pia Hager (Stuttgart, Germany) and Anna Heizler (Stegen, Germany) put up a fight, eventually falling by an 8-2 score at No. 1 doubles.

In singles action, Hager once again performed well, but ultimately fell for the first time this season, dropping a straight-set decision to Grove City's Maggie Manchester. Manchester took the first set 6-3, before winning the point with a 6-4 victory in set two. The loss marked Hager's first of the year in singles play.

Bethany will be back in action on Thursday, September 24, when they travel to New Wilmington, Pa. to take on Westminster College. The action is slated for a 4:00 p.m. start.
