Men's Basketball Unable to Overcome Early Deficit in Season Opener

Bethany, W. Va - The Bethany College Men's Basketball team opened up the 2019-20 season against the Susquehanna River Hawks. The Bison were defeated by the River Hawks, 90-47. Transfer junior, Dalton Hamrick led the Bison with 13 points. Trey Shifflett added 10 points for the green and white.

GAME OVERVIEW

The River Hawks opened up the game with an 11-3 run and kept momentum throughout the entire game. The Bison would get on the scoreboard coming from an Aiden Albert three pointer at the 16:28 mark of the first half. The green and white struggled to find the hoop and an answer for the River Hawks offense. Bethany trailed Susquehanna, 45-16 at the half.

Dalton Hamrick started the second half for the Bison with a layup, but the River Hawks continued to build on their commanding lead. The Bison cut the lead to 17, from two Dylan Furlong freebies from the foul line. Moments later, Trey Shifflett made a layup to cut the lead, 49-22. The Bison couldn't climb out of the deficit.
