Men's Basketball Concludes Season at Waynesburg

Waynesburg, Pa . – The Bethany College men's basketball traveled to Waynesburg, Pa for the final PAC regular season contest against the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets Saturday afternoon, held inside Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse. The Bison concluded the 2019-20 season in the 73-65 loss to the Yellow Jackets. The Green and White were led by junior Dalton Hamrick with 19 points. Aiden Albert added a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

GAME OVERVIEW

The Yellow Jackets were in full control of the game jumping out to a commanding 29-6 lead with seven minutes to go in the first half. The Bison slowly clawed back into the game cutting the deficit to 42-26 going into halftime.

Bethany scored eight straight points to climb back into the game to start the half. With seven minutes to go, the Bison cut the deficit to single-digits (58-50) after a Trey Shifflett layup. The Green and White were unable to get over the eight point hump with Waynesburg building the lead back up to ten.

With just a minute to go, Khalil Wilson laid one in to cut the Yellow Jacket lead to five, 68-63. The Bison would fall short of the comeback losing the battle in the final minute of play.

Bethany shot 26-of-70 (37.1%) from the field while Waynesburg shot 25-of-54 (46.3%). The Bison sent the Yellow Jackets to the line 24 times, where the Yellow Jackets made 21 of the free points at the charity stripe.
