Men's Basketball Falls Late in Second Half to Presidents

Washington, Pa. – The Bethany College men's basketball traveled over the border to Washington, Pa for PAC contest against the Washington & Jefferson College Presidents. The Presidents downed the Bison late in the second half, 83-76. The Bison were led by Derek White Jr. with 17 points and nine rebounds.

GAME OVERVIEW

Bethany and W&J battled for the entire game with 16 lead changes and eight times the game was knotted up. The Bison trailed the Presidents 36-34 going into halftime.

The Bison opened up the second half on a run to take a 45-44 lead with 15:03 to go. It was a see-saw battle throughout the entire game. The Bison took a 7-0 run to lead 66-65 with under seven minutes to go. The Presidents would regain the lead moments later. The Green and White continued to claw to keep the deficit close but would fall short of the comeback.

Bethany shot 46.6% (27 of 58) from the field while W&J shot 44.4% (24 of 54). While the Bison dominated in the paint, outscoring the Presidents 36-28, the Presidents were able to capitalize on the Green and White fouls, heading to the charity stripe 34 times. The Presidents went 76.5% (26 of 34) from the free throw line.
