Men's Basketball Holds off Thiel

Bethany, W.Va – The Bethany College men's basketball team returned to Hummel Field House for a PAC matchup Wednesday evening against the Thiel College Tomcats. The Bison rolled past the Tomcats, 53-49. Derek White Jr. led the Bison with 12 points and team high six assists. Aiden Albert added 11 points for the Green and White.

GAME OVERVIEW

The Green and White opened up the game with a 9-0 lead over the first five minutes of the game. The Bison held onto a narrow lead throughout the first half, until the final minute of the half. Thiel knotted the game at 24-24 and took a 26-24 lead going into the break.

In the second half, the Bison tied the game at 26-26, from a Khalil Wilson jumper. Minutes later, Wilson gave the Bison the lead after laying one in around the basket.

The Green and White kept the narrow lead until the six minute mark when the Tomcats evened the score at 43-43. Thiel took a one point lead with under six to go. An old fashioned three point play from Derek White Jr. gave the Bison a 46-44 lead. With a minute to go, a Trey Shifflett jumper sealed the Bison win.
