Second Half Surge Lifts Titans Over Bison

Bethany, W.Va. – The Bethany College men's basketball took on the Westminster College Titans in a PAC contest Saturday afternoon inside Hummel Field House. Before the game, the Bison honored their two seniors Aiden Albert and Trey Shifflett before today's game. The Titans used a second half surge to defeat the Bison, 79-66. The Green and White were led by Trey Shifflett with 19 points.  

GAME OVERVIEW

In the opening ten minutes of the first half, the Titans maintained the lead over the Bison. The Green and White used a 19-7 run to take over the lead (26-22) with four minutes remaining. Craig Sauers, Trey Shifflett, and Aiden Albert paced the Bison during the run. Bethany led by seven, 35-28, heading into halftime.

The Green and White maintained the lead for the first four minutes of the second half. The Bison led 39-33 before the Titans took away momentum. Westminster took off with a 13-0 run to take a double-digit lead, 49-39. However, the Bison had an answer of their own to cut the deficit to three with 10:01 to go in the game.

Unfortunately for Bethany, Westminster would not back down, taking the momentum away from the Bison again. The Titans used a 15-0 run to extend the lead to double-figures, 64-46. This run would seal the victory for the Titans.

Bethany College men's basketball hits the road for their final two games. The Bison take on Washington & Jefferson Presidents on Wednesday, February 19, at 8 pm. The Green and White close out the regular season on Saturday, February 22 against the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets at 3 pm.
