Men's Basketball: Bison cruise in victory over Wolverines

BETHANY, W.Va. – Five Bethany College men's basketball players scored in double figures in an 84-70 victory over the Grove City College Wolverines inside Hummel Field House Tuesday night.

GAME FLOW

  • It was a back and forth battle for much of the first half. Grove City held a 7-2 lead until Ben Guffey hit a three pointer to cut the lead. The Bison took the lead after Tony Fox hit a pair of free-throws then made a jumper on the following possession. Both teams exchanged the lead, but with the Bison ahead, 27-25 with six minutes remaining, the Bison gained full control of the game. The Green and White went on a 17-4 run.
  • The Bison led 44-31 at the half.
  • The second half remained in the Bison's control with the Green and White leading by as many as 23. The Wolverines cut the deficit to 11 but the Bison were able to hold off and complete the victory.

Bethany has a quick turnaround as they play Fairmont State on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 2 pm for an exhibition game. The Bison return home on Saturday, Dec. 16 against Saint Vincent College at 3 pm.
