
Men's Basketball: Bison fall short to Tomcats
GREENVILLE, Pa. – Bethany College men's basketball team's late comeback fell short to Thiel College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup Wednesday evening. The Tomcats held onto to win, 90-81.
GAME FLOW
- Bethany couldn't find a rhythm to get their offense started early in the game. The Bison had three turnovers in five possessions. The Tomcats led but the Bison came back to knot the game at 12-12. Bethany kept battling Thiel to keep the game close and eventually would take a short lived lead, 29-28.
- After Bethany cut the deficit to two, 37-35, the Tomcats would spark a 10-0 run to close out the first half. Thiel led 48-35 at the halftime break.
- In the second half, Thiel maintained a double-digit lead for majority of the half. The Bison continued to battle and begin to chip away at a 15 point hole. The Green and White went on an 8-0 run to cut the deficit to seven. However, the Tomcats would respond and build the lead back up to double-digits. The Bison were able to cut the lead to single-digits but would run out of time to make the comeback.
IN THE BOX SCORE
- Tony Fox led the Bison with 18 points. He totaled six steals and pulled in four rebounds.
- Cole Dailey contributed 12 points with six rebounds, followed by Ben Guffey and Colin Meany with 11 points apiece and Chance Wells with 10 points.
BY THE NUMBERS
- The Tomcats out rebounded the Bison, 49-30 leading to an 18-12 point advantage on second chance opportunities.
- Bethany scored 23 points off of Thiel's turnovers.
- Thiel had 27 assists while Bethany only had three.
