Men's Basketball: Bison battle Titans for 89-86 win at home

BETHANY, W.Va. – The Bethany College men's basketball team battled Westminster College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup Saturday afternoon inside Hummel Field House. The Bison edged the Titans, 89-86.

GAME FLOW/HIGHLIGHTS

  • It was a back-and-forth affair between the teams for majority of the game. The Bison jumped out to a 7-2 lead to open the game. Both teams continued to battle keeping the game close. The Titans used an 8-2 spurt to go ahead 39-33 with other over minutes left in the half. The Titans would hold the slim 47-45 lead heading into the halftime break.
  • After knotting the game at 49-49, the Bison went on a 9-2 run to take a seven point lead. Tony Fox led the charge with a pair of layups. The Titans battled back and knotted the game at 58-58. With multiple lead changes, the battle continued down to the wire. With 2:24 to go, the teams were deadlocked at 84-84. The Bison took an 89-86 lead after Cole Dailey would capitalize on an old-fashion three point play with 38 seconds to go. The Titans had the ball with time ticking down, they would attempt a shot but Troy Hixson would come up with the block and rebound to seal the victory.
