Women's Lacrosse: Lions Hand Bison First Loss of the Season
Cincinnati, Ohio – The Bethany College women's lacrosse team dropped a 12-10 decision to Mount. St. Joseph Saturday afternoon at Schueler Field.

Records: Bethany (2-1, 0-0); Mount St. Joseph (2-1, 0-0).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bethany took a 3-1 lead with 6:30 to go in the first period. The Lions battled and took a 5-3 lead after one period of play. Bison goals came from Abbie Carpenter, Rikiah Wise and Alexa Taylor.
- The Bison scored the first two goals of the second period coming from Joanna Melita and Cassidy Mailloux.
- The Lions regained the lead scoring three straight goals to take an 8-5 lead with 6:31 to go in the half.
- Cassidy Mailloux scored with just over three minutes to go in the half. Bethany trailed 8-6 heading into the halftime break.
- The Bison outscored the Lions 2-1 in the third period.
- A strong beginning in the fourth period gave the Lions a four goal lead.
- Bethany attempted to comeback with goals by Wise and Mailloux but fell short by two goals.
BISON TOP PERFORMERS
- Cassidy Mailloux led the Bison with four goals on five shots. She scooped up five groundballs.
- Rikiah Wise added three goals for the Bison.
- Alexa Taylor added one goal with two assists.
- Karley Trinidad had two assists.
- Abbie Carpenter contributed one goal and had a team high six groundballs.
- Joanna Melita had one goal.
STATS OF THE GAME
- The Bison outshot the Lions 29-26.
