Women's Lacrosse: Mailloux's Five Goal Performance Lifts Bison over Royals

Harrisonburg, Va. – The Bethany College women's lacrosse team traveled south to Virginia to face Eastern Mennonite Royals Wednesday evening on the EMU Turf Field.  

THE BASICS

Final Score: Bethany 8, EMU 5      

Records: Bethany (3-1, 0-0); East. Mennonite 5   

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Bison scored thirty seconds into the game from a Cassidy Mailloux goal.
  • The Royals knotted the game at 1-1 a minute later.
  • Bethany and EMU battled back and forth going goal-for-goal in the first period. Mailloux gave Bethany a 4-3 lead with 1:29 to go in the first period. Bison led by one heading into the second period.
  • Rikiah Wise scored two goals for the Bison in the second period, extending the Bison lead 6-4 heading into the halftime break.
  • Both teams were held scoreless in the third.
  • In the fourth Cassidy Mailloux continued her success to find the back of the net, scoring two goals to give the Bison a 8-5 victory.

  • The Bison outshot the Royals 23-15.
  • The Bison went a perfect 14-for-14 on clears.
