Women's Volleyball: Bison sweep Presidents

BETHANY, W.Va. – The Bethany College women's volleyball team earned a clean non-conference sweep over PAC rival Washington & Jefferson Presidents inside Hummel Field House Thursday evening.

THE MATCHUP

  • Bethany 3, W&J 0 (27-25, 25-23, 25-10)

HOW IT HAPPENED

After trailing much of the first set, the Bison pulled off the 27-25 win in set one. The Presidents began the first set with all of the momentum, holding the Bison to just two points through the first eight points. After a Bethany timeout, the Bison battled back cutting the deficit, trailing by two, 22-20. After exchanging points back and forth the Bison were able to able to pull off the victory.

Set two started the same as set one, with Bethany trailing. The Bison battled back and pulled off the narrow victory, 25-23.

In set three, the set was all in the Bison's favor, holding momentum through the rest of the match. After being deadlocked, 3-3, the Bison took a commanding 14-5 lead. Bethany held W&J to just 10 points.
