BETHANY, W.Va. – The Bethany College women's volleyball team earned a clean non-conference sweep over PAC opponent Waynesburg University Saturday afternoon.
THE MATCHUP
- Bethany 3, Waynesburg 0 (25-16, 25-22, 25-15)
HOW IT HAPPENED
After being deadlocked at 12-12, the Bison rallied to go ahead 20-12. The Bison would hold the Yellow Jackets to just 16 points while taking set one.
In set two, both teams went back and forth. Waynesburg took the lead, 21-20 after being tied 17-17, then later 20-20. The Bison battled back to take the lead and take set two.
Set three remained in the Bison's favor with momentum. The Green and White led by as many as eight in the third set and held the Yellow Jackets to just 15 points.
MATCH NOTES
- Emma Marthins and Olivia Koehler led the Bison with nine kills apiece.
- Marthins led the Bison block party with six blocks (four solo). Destiny Goodnight added five blocks while Riley Felton had three.
- Asia Crim led the Bison with 16 digs.
