BETHANY, W.Va. – The Bethany College women's volleyball team hosted Chatham University to open Presidents' Athletic Conference play inside Hummel Field House Wednesday evening.

THE MATCHUP

  • Chatham 3, Bethany 1 (25-23, 14-25, 25-16, 26-24)

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Cougars and Bison battled back and forth throughout the first set with the Cougars coming out on top.
  • In the second set, momentum was with the Bison, holding a commanding lead over the Cougars.
  • Chatham wouldn't let set two bring them down, as they would take a turn and gain momentum back from the start of set three. The Cougars held the Bison to just 16 points.
  • Set four, continued with the Cougars having all of the momentum. The Bison would battle back to knot the set 24-24, after trailing, 24-17. Unfortunately, the Bison would give the Cougars the lead off a service error and then with an opportunity to tie the set, the ball would land out of bounds, giving Chatham the win.
