Baseball Succumbs in Ninth
WHEELING, W.Va. – The Bison competed in a tight game against the Wheeling Cardinals. Despite taking a one run lead in the ninth, Bethany was unable to close out the game.
Bethany was down 3-0 entering the top of the fourth. The Bison tied the game up after scoring two unearned runs in the fourth and another in the fifth. Gian DeGenova and Tyler McKee picked up the two RBI in the fourth.
Derek Black picked up the fifth run RBI with a single into right field. That tied the game at three.
The Bison took advantage of an error to take a lead in the ninth. That one run wasn't enough to keep the Cardinals at bay. Wheeling scored two runs to take the victory away from Bethany.
The Green and White will continue non-conference play with a single nine against Muskingum on Tuesday. First pitch will be 4 p.m.
