Softball: Bethany Swept by Westminster

Bethany, W.Va – The Bethany College softball team hosted the Westminster Titans at Bison Field Wednesday afternoon. The Bison dropped two to the Titans, 5-4 and 7-2. Tatum Barrass led the Bison going 4-6, two runs scored and drove in three runs. Barrass had two doubles and a homerun on the day.  

Game One Overview

Bethany dropped the first game, 5-4 to Westminster

The game was scoreless until the top of the third when the Titans crossed the plate to take a 1-0 lead. Bethany's bats began to come alive in the bottom of the fourth. Jen Oberthur drove in Tatum Barrass on a single. Next batter Madison Andrejcik singled, driving in Oberthur. The Bison led 2-1 after four. The Titans knotted the game at 2-2 in the top of the fifth, but the Bison tacked on two runs in the bottom half of the inning to take the lead back. Paige Allen scored off of a bobble by right fielder and moments later Barrass drove in Morgan Huey. A late three run home by Westminster, gave the Titans the go-ahead run to seal the win.

Game Two Overview
Bethany drops game two, 7-2 to Westminster

Both teams scored in the first inning. Tatum Barrass doubled driving in Morgan Huey. The teams stayed deadlocked until the fifth inning after Westminster scored five runs to pull ahead 6-1. The Titans added an insurance run in the sixth. A Barrass homerun gave the Bison another run, but wasn't enough for a comeback.
