Softball: Bison Sweep Presidents

Washington, Pa.  – The Bethany College softball team adventured to Washington and Jefferson for a PAC doubleheader Wednesday afternoon. The Bison swept the Presidents, 6-0 and 3-2.  

Game One Overview

Bethany 6, Washington & Jefferson 0   

Freshman pitcher Josie Wise pitched a complete game two hit shutout. The Bison crossed the plate in the third inning after Tatum Barrass singled to right field scoring Morgan Huey. In the fourth, Josie Wise singled to right center scoring Alex Kopec. The Bison plated three more runs in the fifth inning and added one more run in the sixth.

Bethany 3, Washington & Jefferson 2

The Bison kept momentum going in the second game, jumping to a 2-0 lead through the first three innings. In the first inning Jen Oberthur reached on a Presidents error, scoring Morgan Huey. At the top half of the third inning, Angela Brandel singled down the right field line to score Huey.

The Presidents scored their first run after an infield fly. The Bison added another run in the sixth inning from a sacrifice fly off the bat of Jen Oberthur to give the Bison a 3-1 lead. In the bottom half of the inning, the Presidents scored one run, cutting the deficit to one.
