Softball: Bison Sweep Wolverines

Bethany, W.Va. – The Bethany College softball team hosted the Grove City Wolverines in a doubleheader Monday afternoon at Bison Field. The Bison swept the Wolverines, 5-0 and 4-1.

Game One Overview

Bethany earned a 5-0, win over Grove City  

Freshman pitcher, Josie Wise pitched a complete game shutout in game one. She held the Wolverines to one hit and struck out 8. The Bison scored first in the bottom of the second after freshman Ally McClelland singled to left center to drive in Gabby Capaldi. The Green and White added two more runs in the fifth inning and two more in the sixth inning. McClelland led the Bison with two RBIs. Capaldi and Brandel each had one RBI.

Game Two Overview
Bethany defeated Grove City, 4-1

The Bison kept momentum going in the second game. They jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Tatum Barrass singled driving in Morgan Huey who reached on a single to right field. Then Jennifer Oberthur doubled to right center, driving in Brandel and Barrass. The Bison added another run in the second from a Morgan Huey single that drove in Paige Allen. The Wolverines scored in the top of the third.
