Softball: Bethany Sweeps Franciscan

Steubenville, Ohio  – The Bethany College softball team traveled to Franciscan University for a PAC doubleheader Tuesday afternoon. The Bison swept the Barons, 12-1 (6 innings) and 2-1.  

Game One Overview

Bethany 12, Franciscan 1 (6 innings)

Freshman Josie Wise tossed a six inning one hitter for the Bison in game one. Wise struck out four and walked one. Freshman shortstop Morgan Huey had a day at the plate, batting 3-for-4, with three runs batted in and scoring four runs. Huey was a triple away from the cycle.

Game Two Overview
Bethany 2, Franciscan 1

Franciscan led 1-0 until the fifth inning. The Bison tied the game at 1-1 when Paige Allen stole home. In the top of the seventh, the Bison were able to capitalize on a Baron's error which allowed Tatum Barrass to score. Bethany held Franciscan in the bottom half of the inning to secure the win.
