Softball: Bison Split with Lady Barons

Bethany, W.Va – The Bethany College softball team hosted the Franciscan Lady Barons Saturday, afternoon at Bison Field. Bethany and Franciscan battled today with each team earning a victory. The Bison took game one, 3-2, while the Lady Barons earned a 1-0 victory in game two.

Game One Overview

Bethany earned a 3-2, win over Franciscan

Franciscan crossed the plate first in the top half of the opening inning to take a 1-0 lead. In the bottom half of the first, the Bison took back the lead. Madison Andrejcik singled to left center driving in Tatum Barrass and Jen Oberthur. The Bison held onto the lead until the sixth inning. The Lady Barons deadlocked the game at 2-2 heading into the bottom of the sixth. The Bison took the lead after Angela Brandel drove in the go-ahead run, scoring Ally McClelland.

Franciscan defeated Bethany, 1-0

The Lady Barons and Bison were scoreless through three. The Lady Barons scored in the top half of the fourth inning. Bethany was held to one hit and three total baserunners.
