Bison Men's Soccer Drops Road Decision to Grove City

Oct. 10 – GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Bethany College men's soccer team fell 5-0 to Grove City on Saturday in a Presidents' Athletic Conference matchup.

Grove City (7-4-1) jumped out to a big lead as the Wolverines netted three goals in the early goings.

Bethany (4-7-2) goalkeeper Callum Appleby (Maidstone, United Kingdom/Maidstone) and the Bison defense managed to keep the damage to a minimum in the first period. The Wolverines didn't score after the 8th minute as Appleby recorded six saves on 17 Grove City shots.

The second half saw Grove City score two more goals as the Bison defense struggled to stop the Wolverine attack.

Bethany had a couple scoring opportunities but failed to capitalize for a goal. Sophomore Christian Corona (Miami, Fla./Eau Gallie) led the Bison with two shots in the contest.

Appleby finished the game with a season-high 13 saves as he played all 90 minutes in net.

The Bison will return to action on Tuesday, October 13 when they travel to Latrobe, Pa. to take on Saint Vincent at 4:00 p.m.
