BETHANY, W.Va. (Sept. 9) - The Bison used a pair of first-half goals to claim a 2-0 win over Franciscan Saturday afternoon at the Fuzzy Williams Memorial Classic held at Hoag Field.
THE MATCHUP

- Records: Bethany 3-1, Franciscan 2-1

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bison scored the eventual game-winning goal in the 22nd-minute when freshman Luis Arteaga (Pachuca, Mexico/Leonardo Bravo) redirected a pass from freshman Jose Lujan (Madrid, Spain/Punta Galea) over the Franciscan goalkeeper's head and into the back of the net.
- Sophomore Baboucar Sallah-Mohammed (Arlington, Va./Fishburne Academy) added the insurance marker in the 36th-minute when he took a lead pass from Lujan and finished a breakaway goal to make the score 2-0.
- The Bethany defense limited Franciscan to only one second half shot and earned the win.
MATCH NOTES
- Freshman Torbin Grether finished the afternoon with four saves, including a spectaular save early in the match that kept the game scoreless, to earn his first-career shutout.
