HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bethany held a 9-to-5 edge in shots in the first half, but were unable to find the back of the net with only two being put on net.
- The script changed in the second half, as the Wolverines out-shot Bethany 11-to-2 and forced freshman goalkeeper Torben Grether (Rheinfelden, Germany/Georg-Buchner) to make a trio of saves to keep the match scoreless and send it into overtime.
- Grether kept the Bison in the match with a pair of stops in the first overtime period, but Grove City netted the game-winning goal in the second overtime period.
- Grove City's Nate Curry sent a cross into the box were it was sent into the net by Jonathan Burton to end the match in the 106th-minute.
MATCH NOTES
- Greather established a new season-high with nine saves in the double-overtime loss.
- Grove City finished with a 20-to-11 advantage in shots. Bethany was held without a shot in the extra sessions.
- Freshman Raul Arteaga (Pachuca, Mexico/Leonardo Bravo) led the Bethany attack with four shots, including all three of the Bison shots-on-goal.
