Softball: Bison swept in series against Bearcats

LATROBE, Pa. – Bethany College softball team lost both games of a PAC doubleheader to Saint Vincent College, Sunday afternoon.

Game One Overview

Saint Vincent 2, Bethany 1  

The Bearcats earned the early 1-0 lead after Alex Dillner hit a home run to center field. The Bearcats added another run in the bottom of the third. In the sixth, Bethany cut the lead in half after Mary Marshall doubled to left center to score Brooke Markland. The Bison were held to the lone run dropping the first game, 2-1.

• Destiny Goodnight, Mary Marshall, Morgan Huey and Angela Brandel had one hit apiece.  

Game Two Overview

Saint Vincent 8, Bethany 2

Saint Vincent started the second game where they left off in game one. The Bearcats scored one run in the bottom of the first taking a 1-0 lead. In the bottom of the third, the Bearcats added two runs. The Bison scored two runs in the fifth inning. Morgan Huey singled to drive in Destiny Goodnight. Moments later, Elizabeth Shubert drove in Brooke Markland. The Bearcats answered back scoring two runs in the bottom of the fifth and added two runs in the sixth inning.

Bison Leaders Game Two

• Destiny Goodnight and Morgan Huey had two hits each.
• Huey had one RBI.
• Elizabeth Shubert had an RBI.

Saint Vincent College Bearcats – 14-6 (5-1 PAC)
