Baseball: Bison Stampede Past Cougars
Bethany, W.Va. – The Bethany College baseball team used an early lead to cruise in a PAC victory over the Chatham University Cougars Friday afternoon at Bethany Park.

Michael Whiteherse scored for the Bison in the bottom of the first. Cameron Schaub drove in Stef Blackstone to give the Bison a 2-0 lead after one inning of play. In the second inning, Whiteherse drove in Luke Beatty after doubling to left. Kevin Pollock hit a single to drive in Whiteherse. Bethany led 4-0 after two innings. The Bison added two runs in the third inning and one run in the fourth inning to take a 7-0 lead.
The Cougars scored two runs in the fifth inning, but the Bison added a run after Whiteherse tripled to score Cory Newman. Bethany added three runs in the eighth inning to extend the lead to 11-2.
Bison Leaders
- Zach Pressnell earned his fourth win of the season pitching 8.0 innings with seven strikeouts.
- Cameron Schaub had three RBIs on three hits and one run scored.
- Michael Whiteherse had three hits with two RBIs and two runs scored. He had one stolen base with a double and a triple.
- Kevin Pollock had two RBIs while Alec Berg, Colton Stoneman, Luke Beatty and Mike Hines all had one RBI each.
