All Starters in Double Figures

All five starters reached double figures and the Bethany College women's basketball team held Thiel to three fourth-quarter points in picking up its first win of the season – beating the Tomcats, 85-54, Wednesday in Presidents' Athletic Conference action on Joe Kurey Memorial Court inside the Hummel Field House.

Senior Lindsey Garrison led the team with 17 points on 8-of-17 shooting with three steals and two rebounds. Graduate student Bella Skobel was uber efficient from the floor, shooting 7-of-9 from the floor for 15 points and five rebounds, while junior Kaedlee Potter chipped in with 12 points and three assists.

Freshman Addy Blazer pulled down a team-high seven rebounds to go along with 10 points. Senior Ashleigh Wheeler did a little bit of everything for the Bison with 10 points, four assists, four steals, and two rebounds.

Much like a boa constrictor, the Bison gradually squeezed the life out of the visiting Tomcats. Bethany outscored its visitors by six in the opening quarter and eight in the second quarter to take a 14-point lead into the locker room.

Thiel was only outscored by three points until the defensive toughness sucked the life out TC in the fourth quarter. Bethany forced 11 of the 36 turnovers in the fourth quarter and limited Thiel to just 1-of-9 shooting in the final period.
