
Double-double for Potter
MEADVILLE, Pa. - The Bethany College women's basketball team limited Allegheny to two made field goals in the fourth quarter but couldn't get enough offense to support the stout defense in falling to the first-place Gators Saturday, 69-60, in Presidents' Athletic Conference action inside the David V. Wise Center.
Trailing by eight heading into the final period, Bethany – following a lay-up from junior Kaedlee Potter – cut the deficit to three with 2:42 remaining. However, Allegheny finished the game on a 10-2 run to seal the victory.
Bethany allowed the first seven points of the game and never was able to get over the hump.
Potter recorded her third double-double of the season with 18 points and a career-high 13 rebounds. Sophomore Kate Botti was a rebound shy of her double-double with 15 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks.
Senior Lindsey Garrison added 14 points with three rebounds.
INSIDE BOX & NOTES
- Bison shooters not named Kate Botti were 0-for-13 from three-point range. Botti made one three-point in each of the first three quarters.
- Bethany shot 17-of-19 from the free-throw line.
- The BC reserves finished with jst three points, all from graduate Bella Skobel.
Bethany (8-8 overall, 5-6 PAC) returns home to host Waynesburg Wednesday. The Bison claimed the first meeting, 99-77.
