Third-Quarter Run Hurts WBB

The Bethany College women's basketball team lost two straight for the first time this season, falling 86-79 Tuesday to Saint Vincent in Presidents' Athletic Conference action on Joe Kurey Memorial Court inside Hummel Field House.

Saint Vincent used a 12-0 run midway through the third quarter to take the 13-point lead. The Bison had three straight possessions trailing by one before the game-changing spurt. SVC shot 4-of-5 from the floor as Bethany missed all five of their shots in the run.

Three Bethany players reached double figures led by senior Lindsey Garrison's 26 points. The sharpshooting guard was 10-of-19 from the floor and 3-of-9 from three-point range to reach at least 20 points for the fifth time this season.

Senior Ashleigh Wheeler reached double figures for the fifth straight game with 12 points. She added four assists and three steals in a game-high 37 minutes. Graduate Bella Skobel, who came off the bench for the first time this season, finished with 11 points.
