Skobel Tallies Season-High

WASHINGTON, Pa. - For the second straight game, graduate student Bella Skobel came off the bench to spark the Bethany Bison offense. Unfortunately, this time, it wasn't enough as Bethany fell to Washington & Jefferson, 66-52, Saturday in Presidents' Athletic Conference action.

Skobel scored a season-high 24 points with four rebounds, three steals, and two assists.

The league-leading Presidents scored 16 of the first 18 points, andSkobelo scored seven of BC's nine first-quarter points keeping the Bison in contact. However, the lead grew to double figures early in the second quarter and Bethany couldn't get its deficit to single digits.

Senior Lindsey Garrison added 12 points on 5-of-11 shooting as the only other scorer in double figures. Sophomore Kate Botti pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds, nine of which came on the defensive end.

INSIDE THE BOX & NOTES

  • Skobel was 10-of-13 from the foul line, tying a career-high with 10 made free throws and setting a new career-high with 13 free throw attempts.
  • Botti has pulled down double-digit rebounds five times this season, and 12 times in her career.

Bethany (10-9 overall, 7-7 PAC) travels to Greenville, Pa. to face Thiel 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
