Six with Double Figures in Loss

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. - The Bethany College women's basketball team missed two game-tying three-point attempts with less than 10 seconds remaining, and fell to Geneva Tuesday, 79-76, in Presidents' Athletic Conference action inside Metheny Fieldhouse.

It was a microcosm of the game as the Bison shot just 1-of-20 (five percent) from beyond the arc. Geneva wasn't much better from three-point range, shooting 16.7 percent (4-of-24). The biggest difference in the game came on the glass as the Bison were minus-11 on the glass and were outscored 19-16 in second-chance points.

Geneva went on a 16-0 run to end the second quarter and start the third quarter to claim a seven-point lead. However, the Bison fought back to reclaim the lead with a 12-3 run with sophomore Kate Botti and senior Ashleigh Wheeler combining for eight of the 12 points.

With the game tied heading into the final period, the Golden Tornadoes scored the first nine points of the fourth. Bethany scored five straight, and after Geneva missed a pair of free throws, the Bison had life - unfortunately, neither of the three-pointers connected.

Freshman Addy Blazer, in a career-high 30 minutes, recorded her first career double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds – both career-best marks for the forward.

Potter scored 10 of her 12 points in the fourth quarter as she battled foul trouble all night. Senior Bella Skobel added 14 points, while Wheeler had 12 points, senior Lindsey Garrison had 10 points, and Botti had 10.
