WBB: Four Players Named Academic All-District

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Four Bethany College women's basketball players were honored for their work on and off the court by College Sports Communicators (CSC), the organization announced today (Tuesday, March 25, 2025).  

Graduate Bella Skobel, senior Ashleigh Wheeler, senior Lindsey Garrison, and sophomore Kate Botti were amongst the student-athletes named CSC Academic All-District. Garrison will move to the All-American ballot. 

"We are beyond proud of these four standout scholar athletes," said Bethany College Head Coach Mikayla Lopez. "Their dedication to not only being successful on the court, but also leaders in the classroom is unmatched. They are great representations of Bethany Women's Basketball."

This marks the first Academic All-District honor for all four players.  

Garrison, an education major, earned second-team All-Presidents' Athletic Conference honors. The Wheeling Park graduate finished fifth in the conference in scoring with 13.7 points per game. She scored in double figures in 18 games this season, reaching at least 20 points seven times. Garrison was sixth in the PAC, making 1.8 three pointers per game. She shot   

Garrison reached the 1,000-point plateau earlier this season and will enter next season needing one three-pointer to tie the program record.   

Skobel, who is earning her MBA, reached double figures 10 times this season, including a season-high 24 against Washington & Jefferson. She averaged 8.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists during the season. Skobel earned a spot on the PAC Sportsmanship Team.  

Wheeler, a computer science major, was a four-year starter for the Bison. She wrapped up her career with 984 points. She reached double figures 12 times this season, averaging 9.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.7 assists. 

Botti, a criminal justice major, has started 50 of 51 career games over two seasons. She earned a spot on the D3hoops.com Team of the Week after returning from injury after a 25-point, 10-rebound performance against Waynesburg. For the season, Botti averaged 8.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists.  

Bethany, which has qualified for the PAC tournament in all three seasons under Lopez, finished the 2024-25 campaign at 13-13.
