New Concord, Ohio – The Bethany College women's basketball team opened up the 2021 season on the road against OAC opponent Muskingum University Fighting Muskies. The Muskies used a second half surge to propel past the Bison, 77-69.
GAME FLOW
- Freshman Ashleigh Wheeler scored the first two points of the 2021-22 season for the Bison on two free throws.
- Bethany's first four points were scored off of made free throws.
- The Bison scored the first 10 points in the game and led 12-2 before the Muskies scored with 6:17 to go in the first quarter.
- Bethany led 23-12 at the end of the first.
- Muskingum cut the lead to six, with six minutes to go in the second quarter, but Bethany gathered composure and took a 43-28 lead into the intermission.
- Muskingum scored 30 points in the third quarter to take the lead away from Bethany, leading 58-54 at the end of three.
- Bethany and Muskingum battled back and forth in the final quarter but the Muskies took the lead with under four minutes to go and held on for the win.

- Ashleigh Wheeler led the Bison with 18 points and four assists.
- Lindsey Garrison and Makenzee Mason each had 13 points each.
- Courtney Walker added 12 points.
- Mason and Walker led the Bison with six rebounds.
- Garrison led the Bison with three steals.
