Bethany, W.Va. – The Bethany College women's basketball team used a strong second half to propel past the Saint Vincent Bearcats, 68-54 inside Hummel Field House Monday evening.
GAME FLOW
- The Bearcats jumped out to a 7-3 lead. Freshman Ashleigh Wheeler put the Bison on the board with 8:01 to go.
- A pair of Lindsey Garrison hit a pair of free-throws to putt the Bison ahead 8-7 with 4:27 to go in the first quarter.
- Back-to-back three's from Makenzee Mason and Lindsey Garrison gave the Bison a 15-13 lead after one.
- The second quarter was neck-and-neck with the Bison squeezing a one point lead heading into halftime, 28-27.
- The second half was all Bethany, with the Bison outscoring the Bearcats, 40-27.
- The Bison used the momentum in their favor and opened the fourth on a 11-4 run and continued to pull away down the final stretch.
IN THE BOX SCORE
- Lindsey Garrison led all scorers with 29 points fueled by six three's. The freshman guard registered two steals.
- Ashleigh Wheeler chipped in with 14 points, five rebounds and two steals.
- Sophomore Makenzee Mason added 13 points shooting 10-for-12 from the foul line. She pulled in six boards, three assists and two steals.
- Senior Taylor Stinnett pulled in a team-high 10 rebounds and registered three blocks.
